Knossos/ Heraklion/ Archaeological Museum or Cretan Aquarium

The capital of Crete
from the Minoan times until today

Knossos

Knossos, the most ancient city of Europe and King Minos’ multi-story palace from 1700 B.C. still stands over the centuries and in fact, it is so well preserved that it evokes the respect of the visitor to the Minoan civilization and the level of its architecture.

With amazing design, a perfect water supply and sewerage system and painting samples that look like they were just painted yesterday, it’s impossible for someone to not be impressed!

The palace of Knossos is where the legend of the Minotaur and the labyrinth was born! Leaving Knossos, we head to the city of Heraklion, and visit the museum where we’re standing in front of a 5500 year long history.
